If you want to Market your business on Facebook, a profile simply will not cut it.
\nPages are meant for businesses and they are much more effective at getting your
\nmessage out there. <\/span>What can you do if you goofed up and you already made a
\nprofile for your business? There is a fix: By using Facebook’s migrate tool, you can
\nswitch from <\/span>a profile to a page and best of all, you get to KEEP all your followers.

Promote your Fanpage<\/strong>.<\/span> First, place your Fanpage URL in your email signature.
\nNow every time you send an email, it is another chance for recipients to find

Next, blog about your Fanpage<\/strong><\/span>. Do not just ask your blog readers to like your <\/span>
\npage \u2013 instead, give them at least one compelling reason why they should <\/span>
\n(bribes work well, but it could be any reason, if it resonates with your readers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cross-page promote your Fanpage<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span> By posting on other Fanpages using your <\/span>
\npage’s username, you get a visible link to your page with each comment.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nYou can spend as little as you like, and you can target your campaigns to only

\npage. Ask your Twitter followers to like your Fanpage. Again, offering them a
\ngood reason why they should like it will greatly increase your response rate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why should people become fans?<\/strong> <\/span>I have touched on this, but it is important: <\/span>
\nGive people a great reason to become your fan. Maybe it is to get discounts or
\nupdates. Maybe it is a free video, Ebook, etc. Just make sure it is something that
\nmotivates immediate and swift action.<\/span><\/p>\n

Add your page URL to YouTube<\/strong>. <\/span>Do you create videos to promote your business?
\nThen by all means add your Fanpage URL link to your videos, either at the end
\nof the video or at the beginning of the video description.<\/span><\/p>\n

Post frequently.<\/strong><\/span> Yes, that is \u201cfrequently\u201d \u2026 If you forget about your Fanpage, <\/span>
\nyour fans will forget about you. Post once or twice a day with good info, updates,
\nand questions. Do not make it all about you and your products. Instead, post
\nabout events, news, your industry and so forth. And whenever you can, inject
\na little humor into the mix.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ask your fans to like your content<\/strong> <\/span>so it gets shared on their timelines. You
\ncannot ask every time, but now and then is fine. When they like your post,
\nmore people will see it, which can lead to more fans \u2013 always a good thing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of questions<\/strong>:<\/span> Get your fans involved with your page by starting
\ndiscussions about your products and services or industry news. What is the
\nbest way to start a discussion? Simply ask a provocative question your fans
\ncannot ignore. If you get stuck on what to ask, use the fill in the blank kind
\nof question, such as, \u201cIf you could have any job in the world, it would be ____\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do not become a troll victim.<\/strong> <\/span>Now that you are starting discussions, remember <\/span>
\nto ALWAYS remain Professional, with no exceptions. If you are perceived as
\nquarreling with a fan, it will not matter if you are right \u2013 it will only matter
\nthat you lost your cool and you look like a real dope. And if things look like
\nthey may get nasty, offer the fan a private way to contact you (phone or email,
\nfor example.)<\/span><\/p>\n

Remember to use plenty of photos<\/strong><\/span> and even videos<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span> Written words are great, <\/span>
\nbut videos are better, and photos tend to get shared. So, incorporate a variety <\/span>
\nof mediums into your Facebook communications.<\/span><\/p>\n

Be thankful<\/strong>.<\/span> This one takes a little time, but it is well worth it. Thank each
\nnew person who likes your Facebook Fanpage (you can find them by using
\nthe \u201cNew Likes\u201d box.) This will really make you stand apart from the crowd.
\nAfter all, how many people have ever personally thanked them for a Like?
\nYou might very well be the first.<\/span><\/p>\n

Relax<\/span>.<\/strong> Facebook is not the place for a suit and tie kind of personality. Instead, <\/span>
\nbe fun, be casual, be funny and make your Fanpage an entertaining, inviting <\/span>
\nplace to be.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brand your page<\/strong>. <\/span>That large image on your timeline needs to ROCK. It should
\neffectively communicate the message you want to send to your fans, so spend

Your Posts.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Keep them short and sweet. Want to capture the most eyeballs?
\nThen keep <\/span>your posts to 80 characters or less. Longer posts tend to
\nbe skimmed over <\/span>and shorter ones tend to get read. Pin your posts
\noccasionally. No, I am not talking about Pinterest. Rather, Facebook
\nallows you to \u201cpin\u201d a post to the <\/span>top of your timeline for as long as
\n8 weeks. Use this to showcase something important, such as an
\nupcoming event or a dynamite testimonial from a celeb <\/span>in your
\nniche, or more.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Get busy.<\/strong> <\/span>
\nNone of this will help if you do not get busy and use <\/strong>it to promote
\n<\/strong><\/span>your business on Facebook! Don\u2019t have the time? Hire someone \u2026<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
